After the BMW C 400, GT maxi-style ICE scooters did well, India has shown off the BMW CE 04 premium electric scooter. BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle division of the Bavarian automaker, is trying to copy the success of its ICE-powered ultra-high maxi scooter by releasing in India a big, ultra-premium electric scooter that is similar to the ICE-powered scooter.

The BMW CE 04 is a mix of cutting-edge, futuristic design and an electric powertrain that is good for the environment. BMW Motorrad has added design features that look like they came from a science fiction movie, such as panels that float in the air, simple graphics, an exposed rear wheel, orange accents, etc. A 20 hp liquid-cooled PMSM motor and an 8.9 kWh battery pack power the high-end e-scooter. On a single charge, the range is said to be around 130 km. The car goes from 0 to 50 km/h in 2.6 seconds and has a top speed of 120 km/h set by electronics.

The car also has 265mm discs in the front, one in the back, and ABS. Traction control is also a safety feature. The scooter weighs 231 kg and has a seat height of 780 mm. In keeping with who it is, BMW Motorrad will also bring custom accessories for the CE 04 and its buyers.

Behind the bench-like seat is a place to store helmets. The e-scooter also has a 10.25-inch HD TFT infotainment screen, similar to what you’d find in a car. It has mobile phone connectivity, a split-screen view, built-in navigation, and more. BMW also has three modes for riding: Eco, Road, and Rain.

The BMW CE 04 has a tubular frame, a 35mm telescopic fork up front, and an adjustable preload mono-shock in the back. It also has a unique swing arm with only one side showing. The BMW CE 04 has two 15-inch wheels with 120-section tyres in the front and 160-section tyres in the back.

Even though the company hasn’t said what it plans to do with the BMW CE 04 electric scooter in India, the brand’s other niche, the Rs 10+ lakh ICE scooter, is doing well. We had already said that BMW Group India President Vikram Pawah and other top executives at the company thought that an ultra-luxury electric maxi scooter could work on the Indian market. Still, if it does come out, the BMW CE 04 is likely to be a CBU. The price tag on the e-scooter could be a mouth-watering Rs 20 lakh, which would be dangerously close to the price of BMW’s own R 1250 GS adventure tourer bike in India.
